While in the process of cleaning off several applications from an older server, one application remained regardless of the uninstallation procedure. This application was McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.5i. There is a a method that worked successfully in the removal of this stubburn application.

• Open a Command Prompt
• Go to c:\program files\mcafee\common framework\
• Type the comand frminst /forceuninstall

After the uninstall completed, a reboot was not necessary and the uninstall did remove the entire application.
